Established in 1989 by Sifu Harper, Harper's Kajupit is a distinguished martial arts training school with a rich legacy deeply rooted in Kajukenbo. With the blessings of both Sijo Emperado and Professor Larry Gumataotao, our academy has embraced the true spirit of Kajukenbo from the very beginning.

After the passing of his esteemed teacher, Grandmaster Gumataotao, Sifu Harper's journey led him to San Diego, where he received a great honor. Selected as the personal bodyguard by Sijo A.D. Emperado himself, Sifu Harper was placed directly under his guidance, an experience that forged an unbreakable bond between teacher and student.

Recognizing Sifu Harper's remarkable tenacity and dedication in training, Sijo often likened him to a "pit bull." Inspired by this powerful comparison, our school underwent a transformation in 1995, renaming itself Harper's Kajupit, a testament to the ferocity and strength that epitomizes our approach to Kajukenbo.
